At a time–five hundred years ago and in medieval Europe–being disabled was not a condition, but a curse. Young Andrew’s limbs will not support him, and his words are almost incomprehensible when he struggles to speak…
But have faith and don’t count him out! Andrew, the sing song child, may yet prevail.
Orphaned as a days-old infant, Andrew was adopted by a wealthy couple unable to have children. Sadly, Andrew was afflicted by a sickness that rendered him unable to walk, use his hands, or speak. His parents, Francisco and Mirna, loved him nonetheless.
One crisp evening, when travelling with his nanny, the now twelve-year-old Andrew spied a poor peasant girl pulling the season’s last potatoes in a field. Their eyes met, their hearts fluttered, but Andrew’s carriage rode on into the twilight. Sophie, the poor little girl, went back to her family, perhaps to be abused by her evil drunken stepfather.
Will their different lives ever collide?
Will their hearts flutter again?
